Ask Arvo, the AI assistant
Arvo, Arvello's AI assistant, answers questions about the app and Estonian VAT, payroll and dividends, with linked sources. Limits per plan and privacy explained.
Arvo is Arvello's AI assistant: the round squirrel button in the bottom-right corner of every page in your company. Ask it how to do something in Arvello, or a question about Estonian VAT, payroll, dividends or bookkeeping, and it answers in a few short paragraphs with links to where the answer came from.
Arvo is included in every paid plan: Solo, Growth and Business. Until your company has a subscription, the button doesn't appear. If the subscription ends, or Arvo is switched off for a while, the button stays for anyone with earlier conversations, so you can still read and delete them, but you can't ask new questions. See Plans & billing.
Arvo can make mistakes, and its answers are not tax, legal or financial advice. Check the sources it links, and confirm anything specific to your company with EMTA (the Estonian Tax and Customs Board) or a qualified accountant.
What Arvo can answer
- How to use Arvello: features, screens, settings and billing. For these, Arvo reads the Help Centre, so its answers match what's written in these pages.
- Estonian accounting and tax: VAT (käibemaks), corporate income tax on distributions, dividends, salaries and board member fees, social tax, the KMD and TSD returns, fringe benefits, business trips, bookkeeping rules, annual reports and deadlines. For these, it reads a reference library of Estonian laws and regulations from Riigi Teataja (the official State Gazette), the Accounting Standards Board guidelines (RTJ), EMTA guidance and form instructions, and the Ministry of Finance's commentary on the VAT Act.
Arvo looks up the relevant page or section before it answers, rather than relying on memory. If the library doesn't cover your question, or the rules changed during the period you're asking about, it says so and points you to EMTA or a qualified accountant.
It replies in the language you write in, English or Estonian.
What Arvo can't do
- See your books. Arvo has no access to your company's transactions, invoices, balances or settings. When an answer depends on your figures, it explains the rule and the calculation, and tells you where in Arvello to find or enter the numbers.
- Change anything. It only answers questions. It doesn't create invoices, post entries or file returns.
- Search the web. It answers only from the Help Centre and its reference library.
- Go off topic. Questions about anything other than Arvello and Estonian accounting and tax (general knowledge, other countries' tax systems, personal finances, investments) get a short "I can't help with that one".
- Give tax advice. Where money is involved, it shows the rule, the calculation and the trade-offs, and leaves the decision to you.
Ask a question
Click the round Arvo button in the bottom-right corner of any page in your company. The panel opens above it. Click the button again to close it; your conversation stays where you left it. For long answers, the arrows icon at the top of the panel (Make the panel bigger) makes it wider and taller; click it again to shrink it.
Write in the box at the bottom (Ask about Arvello or Estonian accounting…) and press Enter or the arrow button. A new conversation also offers four starter questions you can click, such as "How do I create and send my first invoice?".
While Arvo works, it shows what it's reading. Under the answer, a line such as 3 sources opens the list of Help Centre pages and legal sections it used, each one linked. Laws and guidance show the date their version took effect ("version from …"). Answers based on Estonian law or guidance end with a short note that they're for information only and not tax advice.
Ask a follow-up in the same conversation: Arvo takes the earlier questions and answers in it into account. Use the thumbs up (Helpful) or thumbs down (Not helpful) under an answer to tell us how it did.
Your conversations
- Your conversations (the clock icon at the top of the panel) lists your earlier conversations, the most recently started first. Click one to pick it up again. Show older conversations at the bottom of the list loads the ones before.
- New conversation (the pencil icon) starts a fresh one.
- A conversation holds up to 20 questions. After that, start a new conversation to keep asking.
- To delete a conversation, open Your conversations, click the bin icon next to it, then Delete to confirm. Deleting a conversation doesn't add its questions back to your allowance.
- Conversations are private to you. Other team members, including the company's owners, can't see what you asked, and you can't see theirs.
- If you leave the company, or are removed from it, your Arvo conversations in that company are deleted.
- Conversations nobody has added to for 12 months are deleted automatically.
Daily and monthly limits
Each person has a daily allowance, and the company as a whole has a monthly one:
| Plan | Questions per person per day | Questions per company per month |
|---|---|---|
| Solo | 15 | 100 |
| Growth | 25 | 250 |
| Business | 40 | 600 |
- The top of the panel shows how many questions you have left today, or this month when your company's monthly allowance runs out first.
- Daily allowances reset at midnight Estonian time. The monthly allowance resets on the 1st.
- Long conversations take more work per question, so a company that asks mostly in long conversations can reach its monthly limit before the full count is used.
- Arvo takes up to five questions a minute from one person. Ask faster than that and it asks you to wait a minute.
- If Arvo can't answer because something went wrong on our side, the question isn't counted. Questions it declines as off topic are counted, and so are answers you stop: what Arvo had written by then is kept in the conversation. If you stop it (or the connection drops) before it has written anything it can back with a source, nothing is kept. The question is still counted if a fair part of the answer had already appeared (a few sentences), and not counted if you stopped it almost straight away.
- Arvo answers one question at a time in each conversation. If it is still finishing an answer (for example in another tab), wait a moment before asking the next.
- When overall demand is unusually high, Arvo may pause questions until the next day.
Privacy
- Don't share personal ID codes (isikukood), bank details or passwords with Arvo. It doesn't need them to answer.
- Conversations are deleted 12 months after your last message, and may be reviewed by Arvello staff to improve Arvo.
